Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • You conclude an Author's Agreement with ZAS Papers in Linguistics (ZASPiL) in which you affirm, among other things, that you have the necessary rights of use, that you do not violate the rights of third parties, especially image rights, and that you transfer simple rights of use to ZASPiL for publication, licensing, and long-term archiving. The copyright remains with the authors.
  • The text adheres to the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • You have used our ZASPiL Document Template ENGLISH or our ZASPiL Document Template ENGLISH example for submission. If you would like to write your article in LaTeX, you have agreed to do so after prior consultation with the editors of the ZASPiL issue.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • In addition to the article, you write an abstract and assign about 3 to 5 keywords (each in German and English).
  • You agree that the article will be published under a CC BY License (4.0).
  • You follow the Guidelines for Safeguarding Good Research Practice.

Author Guidelines

ZASPiL publishes only previously unpublished, original research. The publication of a new ZASPiL volume can be initiated by various ZAS researchers who approach potential authors and ask for submissions. If ZASPiL editors have already asked you for a contribution to a planned volume, please please send your submission directly to the respective editor.

The size of the article as well as the German and English abstracts will be determined by the editors. In addition, about 3 to 5 German and English keywords are to be assigned.

Please use the valid ZASPiL Document template (word file with ending .dotx) or our ZASPiL sample file (word file with ending .docx) and the format templates integrated there for submission. Only after prior consultation with the editors of the issue another authorized version of the template may be used. If you would like to write your article in LaTeX, please discuss with the editors of the respective issue in advance.

In order for a contribution to be published, authors conclude an Author‘s agreement with ZASPIL, which grants ZASPiL a non-exclusive right of use for the first publication and long-term archiving of the contribution. Authors further assure ZASPiL that they do not violate the rights of third parties, especially image rights. The copyright remains with the authors. Please send the author's agreement, filled out and signed, at the same time as your submitted contribution, but in a separate e-mail, to zaspil@leibniz-zas.de and to the editor*of the ZASPiL issue.
